Adelaide Wellbeing Society

About Us

Adelaide Wellbeing Society was created by three passionate Exercise Physiologists, who saw the need for good quality health care.

From humble beginnings as Essential Exercise Physiology, providing Exercise Physiology only services, we had a much bigger dream. A dream where people could access a team of high quality services without the long waiting lists.

We are the Adelaide Wellbeing Society, here to support you.

We are a South Australian owned and operating team supporting the Northern suburbs of Adelaide.

We have the belief that everyone deserves to have a healthy and fulfilling life, where YOU are in control, not your illness, chronic condition, or disability.

We help you take control, feel better, and enhance your health and wellbeing.

We value strong relationships, personalised care, and equitable health, not the bottom line.

Meet the team

Bailey

Hi, I’m Bailey, one of the Exercise Physiologists here at AWS and I’ve been part of the team since January 2022. I hold a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Flinders University. Exercise has always been a big part of my life—I grew up playing multiple sports every weekend, which fuelled my love for exercise. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career in Exercise Physiology, where I could combine my passion for exercise with helping others. I’m passionate about supporting people of all ages with a wide range of conditions and disabilities and helping them work towards their individual goals with tailored exercise prescription. As an Exercise Physiologist, I enjoy building meaningful relationships with clients while supporting them in their exercise journey. I believe a strong client–practitioner relationship is key to achieving success, whether your goals are big or small!

Jessica

Hi, my name is Jessica, and I’m an Exercise Physiologist at Adelaide Wellbeing Society. I hold a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) from the University of South Australia. My clinical focus is on stroke rehabilitation, neurological recovery, and amputee rehabilitation, with a strong interest in how exercise and hydrotherapy can support neuroplasticity and functional recovery. I’m passionate about helping people regain independence, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life through tailored exercise programs. I have a particular interest in neurological conditions and rehabilitation, where I use evidence-based exercise to support both physical and mental wellbeing. My love for exercise began through sport, especially netball, which I’ve played for 19 years. Outside of work, you’ll often find me with my adopted fur baby Kaia—who loves the beach and hanging out with her brother, Pogo.

Cherry

Hi all! My name is Cherry, one of the Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapists here at Adelaide Wellbeing Society. I am extremely passionate about supporting individuals and families to achieve their goals in promoting independence and engaging in meaningful activities of daily living. I have a strong interest in early intervention, specifically around play and school readiness skills. I have experience in multiple areas such as Functional Capacity Assessments, attention and concentration, handwriting, emotional and sensory regulation and toileting. I am a massive foodie and love trying new restaurants with friends or experimenting with my own baking. You can also catch me enjoying beach walks or sweating it out in the gym.

Dom

My name is Dom and I am a Senior Speech Pathologist at the Adelaide Wellbeing Society, graduating in 2022 with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. I am passionate about taking a client-centred, neurodiversity-affirming approach, with a strong focus on capacity building around each individual. My special interests include supporting non-speaking individuals through Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), working with people with neurodegenerative conditions, and promoting safe mealtimes for both paediatrics and adults. I have developed expertise across AAC, language building, literacy, speech sound development, social communication, aphasia, dysarthria, paediatric feeding and dysphagia. I am committed to ongoing professional development, regularly updating my practice with evidence-based training and courses in AAC, dysphagia management, language and literacy intervention, and neurodiverse-affirming therapy approaches. Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active at the gym, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying a good almond iced latte

Sian

Hi everyone, my name is Sian, and I’m a Speech Pathologist (Honours). I’m passionate about empowering clients to unlock their full potential, with a special interest in the brain, aphasia, and promoting functional communication across the lifespan. Outside of work, I love travelling and exploring new cities and trying new restaurants.

Janae

Hi, my name is Janae, and I am an Occupational Therapist. I moved from Queensland at the start of 2023, and have been loving the Adelaide lifestyle and beautiful scenery. I work with clients across the lifespan and am passionate about supporting people to engage in what is meaningful and necessary to them. I strongly value the therapeutic relationships that develop working with people and their families, it’s truly rewarding to be part of the process in promoting wellbeing, purpose and quality of life. When I am not at work, I love spending time at the beach (when it’s warm!) and getting out to explore the rest of South Australia.

Jonathon

Hi I’m Jonathon. I am one of the founding directors of Adelaide Wellbeing Society. My background stems from 16 years as a Senior Exercise Physiologist working in both private practice, community and government health care services. The human body is amazing, and the improvements you can make from living an active life is profound. I have a passion for Chronic Disease self management, behaviour change, health coaching, and rehabilitation, and it does not matter your level of health of physical ability (or disability), you can live a healthier and happier life by the benefits of movement and exercise. I have a young family, and therefore know too well the challenges of juggling a family whilst making sure to spend time for yourself to improve your health. If I’m not playing with the kids I’ll be out for a run, in the gym, or tinkering with a car!

Chantelle

Hi, Chantelle here, one of the founding directors of Adelaide Wellbeing Society. I’ve worked in many areas of health, and have specialised in occupational health, injury rehabilitation and supporting individuals with disability. From my experience working within the mining industry, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings, I am able to apply my clinical experience to produce individualised and evidence-based exercise prescriptions. My passion is to empower clients through exercise to achieve independence, confidence and the ability to live life to the fullest.

Cain

And I’m Cain, the other founding director of Adelaide Wellbeing Society. I’ve worked across many areas in health, both starting in Sydney then moving to Adelaide. For the last 7 years I have been the lead Exercise Physiologist at the Modbury Day Rehabilitation service. Although well experienced in all aspects of exercise physiology, my main expertise is with Amputee and Stroke rehabilitation. Having an amputation or CVA/stroke, or other disability, is dramatically life changing and affects everyone differently. For this reason a unique and individual approach is needed to help you recover and return to the activities of life you enjoy. I enjoy spending time with my wife and young daughter, doing construction/renovation and you will find me out playing golf most Saturday’s.
